Suggest Remedies For Stress And Panic Attacks Caused By Working Night Shifts
I am a care assistant and have 3 12 hour night shifts to do, it makes me feel really ill and very hard to stay awake, I ve tried talking to the manager to stop doing night shifts but they won t have none of it, it s giving me panic attacks and I m really stressed because I don t like leaving home what can I do ?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Based on the description, it appears that you are taking too much of stress during your night duty postings. Before going in for medications, you can try the following and see if it would help to overcome the stress. 1. Going for a brisk walk everyday for 20 to 30 minutes. 2. Meditation for about 30 minutes daily. 3. Sleeping everyday for a minimum of 6 - 8 hours. If you do not feel better by above measures by about a month, you need to consult Psychiatrist for clinical evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
