Suggest Remedies For Swelling And Pain On Top Of The Foot After Injury

I broke my femur and during the 6 weeks of wearing a brace and using a walker, I only put very little weight on that let. But the final week an the two weeks since getting rid of the brace, I tended to walk on the balls of my foot. Now the top of my foot is swollen and painful.

Hello,

It is due to minor contusion or sprain. As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

You can also apply ice packs for faster recovery. If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
