Suggest Remedies For Swelling In Kneecap Post Injury With History Of Fractured Leg
Hi. Boyfriend 46, suffered a compound fracture of the lower leg at 18. Hit by a car. Still has rod in from knee to ankle. Yesterday his scaffold collapsed from under him, he fell about 15 landing on a board on the center of his foot, jamming everything up into the knee. Today there is swelling of the whole knee with a large, wide lump around the inside top of kneecap.
Since your Bf has wide lump around the knee cap & swelling of the knee after a fall post surgery, you are suggested to get him clinically examined by the treating surgeon or n the ER. Your BF needs urgent follow up medical examination & immediate medical aid to prevent worsening of the symptoms. You can give him NSAIDS, Naproxen or Combiflam, one SOS for symptomatic relieve. Let him stay at rest. Get him treated at the earliest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
