Suggest Remedies For Throat Heaviness After Swallowing A Fish Bone
I swallowed a fish bone when I was eating it was quite small but sharp so I drank salty water and even ate bread but I still feel a heavy sensation in my throat. I m about to sleep now since I have school tommorow and I m think of visiting the gp tommorow after school should I be okay
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of throat heaviness after swallowing a fishbone which seems to be due to irritation and swelling in throat region due to abrasion from fish bone as it is quite thin. I would suggest you to visit your general physician or ENT specialist once and get it examined as it could lead to foreign body obstruction and case choking. Go fo barium meal study or endoscopy to find location of exact cause and start treatment accordingly. Till then
- Drink warms aline water and do rinses. - Try coughing hard. - Keep banana in small pieces in mouth to soften and moist oral cavity. - Maintain hygiene.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
