Suggest Remedies For Tingling On Fingertips After Using Bleach
Hello - my name is Ed-- I hand washed the aluminum siding on my house using hot water in a 5 gallon pail mixed with 1/2 gallon of bleach. I washed a 20 foot section, then my index finger began to tingle. I didn t think much about it. I had 10 more feet to finish the one side of the house. So, I endured the stinging sensation sense I was almost done. When I was finished-- I noticed one of my rubber gloves had a rip in it. that explained the stinging. My index finger had mini blisters along the top side of it. I ran cold water over it to clean and numb it. Now 24 hrs later my index finger has slightly swollen up to the knuckle on my hand. I can still bend my finger with some effort and a clear fluid oozes out of blistered area. I m concerned about infection or blood poisoning since the pail had bleach and liquefied paint in it .
First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, you are having bleach burns on your fingers and need to get yourself reviewed by the surgeon.
You should get soothing creams and topical antibiotics, meanwhile, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen can help with the symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
