Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have what they call a trigger thumb and the shot the doctor gave me did not take away the trigger but I have very little pain. He said that if it didn't work that he could cut the tenden and that it would be ok after. Could you please let me know it that would be a good solution to the problem. Thank you Nancy
Hello dear Understand your concern. Trigger finger is cause by inflammation of synovial joint of finger. Excessive use and disturbance in flexor and ex tensor compartment of finger produce it. Medical treatment: Complete rest to finger, avoid movement that produce pain and aggravate the attack, Tablet ibuprfen or tramadol, Ice pad application Steroid injection: for faster and better relief
Surgical treatment: If not responds to medicine you can do surgery in which tendon tension should be released. So you can go for surgery as it is last and best option.
Consult the orthopedic surgeon and get proper treatment by surgery. Hope this may help you
