Suggest Remedies For Vaginal Itching Post A Surgical Abortion
Hi...I had a surgical abortion 1 week and 2 days ago. .I wasn t given any antibiotics tho..I also didn t bleed until 2 days later after the procedure. .but few days back I ve been experiencing some uncomfortable itching in my vagina. .I don t know if I can use vagina cream now.
It should be safe for you to use an anti-fungal cream (like Clotrimazole) for what sounds like a yeast infection. Usually it is recommended not to have intercourse or use tampons for 2 weeks after a surgical abortion, but as long as you don't put the cream too deep in the vagina, you should be fine.
If you start experiencing any pain, I would stop and let your doctor know about what is going on.
I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any other questions and I would be glad to help any way I can.
Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
