Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi there, my four yr old is perfectly well, eating normally, usual high energy etc otherwise, but this a.m we had a watery stool which was very fishy and nasty smelling. No fever or other symptoms and is eating normally and playing like normal. He isn t feeling unwell or anything. We haven t had anything else since the bout this a.m. Is this something to worry about and could it be contagious? Thanks Amanda
Hi Amanda, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. It appears from your description that your son is having gastrointestinal infection caused by bacteria. Kindly give him Enterogermina medication once a day for 5 days. To prevent dehydration, give him good quantity of water and fresh fruit juices. Also give bland diet which is easily digestible. Supplementation with probiotics and butter milk would also be helpful. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
