Suggest Remedies For Withdrawal Symptoms Of Lisinopril

I have been on 10 mg of lisinopril for ten years. And I use to take water pill too. Then I noticed i had problems with the water pill,so the doctor told me to stop taking the water pill. And thats started, leading to sinus, chest conditions, etc.and back up ear infections too.Last year due to a break up with my husband I went on cymbala antidepressant last .When I got on the internet looking up side effects, both lisinopril and cymbala cause side effects having to do with nasal congestion etc. What can I switch to,that would help me? Outside of that my overall health is good.I walk all the time I climb two flights of stairs daily.I just turned 70 this year.

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Lisinopril is a good BP medication. It however has side effects like nasal congestion as you put it.These side effect vary from one individual to another and may not even occur in some people. You have been on this drug for 10 good years.I guess you had it for long because your system could tolerate the drug.Changing a drug you have been used to for long because you read it sides effect may not be good. You may however do so if you have symptoms. The other drugs may not be without side effects.
There are however many different anti-hypertensives.I will suggest you see your Doctor again for evaluation before a change of drug.Lisinopril withdrawal may not however have any serious side effect but for a rise in BP which may immediately be counteracted by a more tolerable BP drug your Doctor will chose.
Hope this will help you
Best regards
