Pls advice the medication and any effects that it may have. Thank u! Regards Shanayaa
If you want to change your period cycle, you will have to plan a few months in advance as you have rightly done.
I suggest you take a course of hormonal tablet norethisterone which is available in strengths of 5mg. Taking it twice a day for more than 5 days will postpone your period by around 7-10 days as withdrawal bleeding after the tablet is stopped usuallystarts in 2-3 days. This way you can postpone the next period by as long as is convenient. You will be skipping a month's period approximately. However, avoid taking it for more than 10 days.
Also, avoid taking this medication if you have any condition giving rise to blood clots or suffer froma heart condition or have had a stroke earlier. Please consult your gynaecologist in such a case.
Hope this helps.
Regards, Dr Geeta
