Suggest Remedy Dry, Scaly And Itchy Skin Patches On The Scalp
My husband has developed an area on his head, that has patches of thick scales. He is 67years old.they don t seem to bother him, occasionally itches. Lots of flaking and hair matting. Tried many special shampoos. Thinking of treating like cradle cap, baby oil and a fine tooth comb. Then maybe some neosporin ointment. Suggestions?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Looking at the description, it appears that your husband is having 'Seborrheic Dermatitis' of scalp. He needs to do the following to get cured: Use shampoo that contains one of these key ingredients: 1. Coal tar 2. Ketoconazole 3. Salicylic acid 4. Selenium sulfide 5. Zinc pyrithione Regular use of it every alternate days should get rid of his symptoms in about 3 weeks time. Hope the information provided would be useful. All the best.
