My daughter has had an ear tube in her ear for 5 years now and over the last few months have been experiencing ear infections. Just recently, the ear started draining a foul smelling liquid. My pediatrician cultured it and found out it was the MRSA infection. She immediately sent me to an ENT. The ENT will be removing the tube, cleaning out the ear, and then repairing the ear drum. Will this ultimately get rid of the MRSA infection? I'm afraid of trapping the MRSA infection in the middle ear by doing the membrane repair.
Dear nothing to worry if they remove infection focus it will subside the problem. If MRSA means they may treat the problem with vancomycine or linezolid. Take care about her.
