I recently had surgery and acquired a UTI from being catheterized. I went for a PAP smear 3 mths post op and was dx with proteus mirabilius. I did not have sx and was tx with Cleocin. I now however am bloated and my MD suggested that I do warm water douche' and keep my self clean. I have been feeling bloated and have had episodic bleeding. I have called my MD and she does not seem worried about these sx.I am 57 yrs old and never had a pap smear to worry about , my mammograms have been good. I am not comfortable with the idea of this change in my gyn status, I did no have a pap at the time of the appointment due to the discharge and am scheduled to return in May. Is this a normal sx if the bacterial infection has not been cleared?
As per my clinical expertise, it is a bacterial infection of vagina or cervix with urinary tract infection. In our clinic, we recommend local care with gentian violet washing, plenty of liquids, antibacterial, and antifungal agents until complete recovery.
