Suggest Remedy For A Painful Lump On The Side Of Shin Bone
I have a hard lump on the side of my shin bone after being run into at a fast speed by 2 dogs. One was 35 pounds and the other 13. It s been 3 weeks. It s painful when I lay down with it propped up. Or just laying down. It s so painful I can t sleep. The pain goes up to my knee. It s very painful to touch it. My doctor said it is nerve damage. When I stand on it, it hurts less, but now it s starting to hurt no matter what. My toes seem a little numb and my leg is getting stiff.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Pain on the leg after being run over by dogs is expected. This pain is due to soft tissue damage. Hard lump is probably due to swelling and induration. However, associated numbness suggests nerve injury as rightly pointed out by your referring doctor. The next step is to consult an orthopedician for clinical assessment of the leg and shin. The local site of injury needs to managed depending on its condition. In case there is any open wound then that needs to be dressed. There is probability of nerve injury. A number of nerve injuries heal spontaneously over a period of time, however, it is essential to first determine the cause of numbness and plan management thereafter.
