Suggest Remedy For Abdominal Cramps With Irregular Menstruation

The past few months my period has lightened and been late, this month am late again. I ve taken a pregnancy test which is negative. I m exceptionally tired, have lower abdominal cramps and sore breasts - I also have Pcos. Am just confused and worried there is something up as my cycle is usually regular. I am trying to fall pregnant and have fallen easy in the past. I miscarried earlier this year. I am 39.

Hi,

The symptoms are typical of PCOS. As of now, you can take pills like Mefenamic acid (meftal) for pain relief.

If you experience difficulties to conceive, you have to consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated. You have to start on drugs to control your periods and for ovulation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
