Suggest Remedy For Abdominal Pain And Elevated AST Levels

I just received my blood screen back and it is showing my triglycerides are elevated to 293. It is also showing elevated ast at 36. The rest of the blood test came in normal range. I m a 49 year old female and not overweight. I have also been having abdominal pain!! Should I be concerned?? I m also a drinker.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Triglyceride (TG) should be below 150 mg/dl.
Level of triglyceride up to 293 mg/dl is quite an elevated level.
The normal range for AST is below 40 IU/L.
Thus, level of AST upto 36 IU/L is within normal range.
TG level is elevated when intake of saturated fatty acids is high.
Life style modifications can help to improve the levels of TG.
In case you are overweight, try to loose weight with regular exercise.
Avoid foods rich in saturated fatty acids.
Increase the consumption of proteins, fibre and fluids in your diet.
I suggest you to consult a physician to review the elevated TG.
Medication may be required to reduce the Tg levels.
