HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Acne is due to a number of different factors. To treat it effectively, most of these should be treated.
The factors are: (1) excess production of a substance called sebum , in the skin
(2)inflammation of the skin
(3)excess activity in the hair follicles, causing then to become plugged
(4)presence of a particular bacteria
At the moment the guidelines suggest that first line treatment for acne should consist of topical retinoid and anti bacterial (oral or topical) treatment..
Epiduo is a cream that has a retinoid and
benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide has different functions including an effect on bacteria.
Retinoids can also be used as a single cream along with benzoyl peroxide or an antibiotic.
Oral retinoids are available if the topical are not effective.
It may be best to see a
dermatologist for suggestions and medication
I hope this helps
