My granddaughter age 25 wears long sleeves in summer becasue of bad acne pits or marks on her arms and chest. I said they need air and should not keep them coversed. I feel so sorry for her because she won't even wear a bathing suit. She is a beautiful girl but feels so bad for any one to see her arms. What help do you advise?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your granddaughter have symptoms of acne on arms and chest which occurs when a pore in your skin gets clogged, usually with debris, bacteria and dead skin cells and causing area to be red and swollen. I would suggest you to exfoliate gently once or twice a day with a salicylic acid-based exfoliant. You should wash these areas using a clindamycin gel with mild soap and lukewarm water. If condition doesn't improve in a week then consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe stronger antibiotics along with retinoids and isoteritenoin. Apply cotton dipped in tea tree oil to lighten the pigments. Apply benzoyl peroxide cream or gel for killing the bacteria in the pore.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
