Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have severe forehead acne that started after taking prostinor for three months consecutively. I stopped and even my periods are regular but the acne refuses to clear. How do I get rid of the acne and how long will it take for my hormones to go back to normal? Help. Worried.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have acnes on forehead which is because skin has increased sensitivity of getting pigmented and it leads to post inflammation hyper-pigmentation. It could be due to clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum ,dead skin and bacteria get infected. I would suggest you to wash your face daily with cold water and face wash containing salycylic acid twice a day and apply cream containing azelac acid which is good for acne as well as marks. Drink plenty of water. If condition doesn't get well in a week then consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment. You should apply Meladerm cream and it is purely safe to use as this is combination of hydroquinone + Tretinoin + steroid and apply it at night time. You can go for chemical peeling and laser therapy.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
