Suggest Remedy For Anxiety And Depression Post Citalopram Withdrawal

I have been taking citalapram for three or four years and now the doctor wants me to get off of it since I m having some kind of allergic reaction with my meds (rash and itching). When I titrate it down..I get all my symptoms back of anxiety and depression. I want to suggest another mild antidepressant to my Dr. with the least side effects. Can you suggest one? General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As per my clinical experience, the anxiety and depression post withdrawal of citalopram is due to receptor mediated actions at central nervous system level. Over and above titration of dose reduction, in my clinic, I do recommend an addition of:
- Melatonin (3 mg) once a day
- Meditations and aerobics
- YOGA
to help combat the issue nicely.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
