Suggest Remedy For Anxiety When Weaning Off Hydrocodone

I've been off of hydrocodone for about a week (took it for knee replacement) but now I'm getting anxiety at night. Dr. prescribed ZaNAX AND I HAVE TO TAKE TWO PILLS to calm down. Don't want to get addicted to Zanax. Will the anxiety eventually disappear?

Hello

I think the anxiety which you are having after stopping hydrocodone is due to withdrawal effects of the drug.
In my opinion, the anxiety will eventually decrease in almost 7-8 more days.

However there is no harm in ocassional use of xanax.

You can also practice relaxation exercises like deep breathing and meditation.

If the anxiety still persists even after another week, consult a psychologist. Psychological therapies like biofeedback and progressive muscle relaxation will help you.

Thanks.
