Suggest Remedy For Arthritis And Painful Finger

hello, my pinky finger (left hand) was damaged many years ago when I was playing football. I just recently visited a doctor that told me it was arthritis, but I'm not quite sure if that's the right prognosis. It really hurts and is really painful. I live in Portland, OR.
