Hello,

You should always consult a physical therapist before getting massaged. Since you are experiencing pain, the first line of treatment is to reduce pain due to inflammation and soreness. Take acetaminophen or NSAIDs, one stat after food to get relief from pain. You can apply pain relieving spray (Volini) on the area affected for relieve. Do not stress too much. Keep yourself comfortable. If obese, do regular walking and stretch exercises to help reduce discomfort.

Get clinically examined by an orthopedist to rule out slip disc, disc herniation or any other pathology that is causing you symptoms. Get X-ray, MRI done to get a precise diagnosis. You will be treated with therapeutic ultrasound, cold-hot therapy, massage therapy. Get connected with a physical therapist.

Conservative treatment is done with pain relieving medications, muscle relaxants, opioids or steroid injections if required. You will be referred to a neurologist to get Nerve velocity conduction tests done. You will be treated accordingly. Take food rich in vitamin B6, B12 or supplements.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
