My 96 yr old mother has been belching feeling nausea for the past three days.. She has thrown up today and last wed. She ate lunch around noon and began throwing up around 3:30. I have given her tums. Is there anything I can do to stop her discomfort. She takes Prilosec every day in the am.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If she has reflux then this can causes nausea, bloating and belching.
It may also be related to acute infectious gastritis , viral or bacterial though viral infection is most common.

She can use an over the counter medication to help with the nausea and vomiting eg dramamine or peptobismol
This can be added to her reflux medication. She may want to see if the prilosec can be increased temporarily to help reduce her symptoms.

I hope this helps
