Suggest Remedy For Bi-polar Disorder

HI! I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER AND BI-POLAR DISORDER AND AM REVIEWING THE MEDS I AM TAKING FOR IT WHICH ARE TOPAMAX 75MG/DAY, CIPROLEX 20MG/DAY & LAMOTRIGINE 50MG/DAY. 2 OF THOSE, I LOOKED UP ARE TO TREAT EPILEPSY OR MIGRAINES??

hi. so you have been diagnosed as borderline personality, that must be because of your mood fluctuation, problems in interpersonal relationships and impulsive and reckless behavior. the meds u r receiving are antiepileptic like topamax and lamotrigine, but they also work as a mood stabilizer when given in sufficient dosages. actually lamotrigine is used for and approved for bipolar depression and topamax is for migraine and also as mood stabilising property. ciprolex 20mg is a antidepressant escitalopram. it must be given to u because currently u have more negative thoughts and depression. but i feel u shud receive sodium valproate along with one antidepressant to maintain u in a better mood and condition. if u have improvement with these meds, u must continue them otherwise tell your treating psychiatrist to review your meds..

In my opinion your doctor have prescribed you medications for bipolar disorder only. You are right that these medications are also used for the treatment of epilepsy or migraine as each medications have multiple indications.
