Suggest Remedy For Bleeding During 16 Weeks Of Pregnancy

I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and had a bleed last weekend (a gush of red period looking blood)...doctor says that the placenta and uterus are a bit separated...about 1-2%, and that the placenta is lying low, near but not covering the cervix. This is where the bleeding came from. The bleeding has subsided into light brown discharge, and just now noticed a small bit of tissue when urinating. The doctor seems to think the problem will correct itself as the pregnancy progresses. Does this seem like more of a serious problem than what my doctor is stating? How likely is it that the problem will fix itself as pregnancy progresses?
