Suggest Remedy For Bleeding From A Deep Cut On Forehead
Mom is 98 years old. She fell and sustained a deep gash on her forehead an hour ago. We have bandaged the wound with gauze and used use and a bit of pressure to stop the blnd is stiood from spurtiilng. She is still in bed, and in fact, has fallen asleep. the wound is still oozing fresh blood. She has been taking among other things Vitamin E and Lovastatin? Might that have contributed to the excessive bleeding? What do we do from here?

Hi.
It seems that there might be having deep injury on forehead leading to cut of minor arteries giving rise continuous bleeding.
This might require tie up of artery injured during fall.
This wound might require suturing.
As she is fallen asleep requires attention to rule out any damage inside as well.
Go to ER and get examined.
Meanwhile apply ice pack and pressure over the injured part.
Ok and take care.
