Hi, The most important thing is to watch for signs of infection such as pus secretion fever or swelling of extremity and in this case, you should see a doctor who will probably prescribe antibiotics. Otherwise, you need some kind of antihistaminic ointment. Also Apply an ice pack to a bite or sting for 15 to 20 minutes once an hour for the first 6 hours. Try a nonprescription medicine for the relief of itching, redness, and swelling such as Benadryl or Chlor-Trimeton. Hydrocortisone 1% cream or calamine lotion may also be helpful. It is important not to scratch or manipulate the wound to prevent infection. You may cover the wound with a thin layer of petroleum jelly, such as Vaseline, and a nonstick bandage.
