Hello and welcome to HCM, Bleeding from nose is most commonly due to trauma to the nasal mucosa. A clinical examination of the nasal mucosa is required to assess the nasal mucosa. In case any bleeding vessel is identified, steps are to be taken to close the bleeder. Among other causes of bleeding nasal mucosa are disorders of platelets and clotting factors. In addition, certain investigations like bleeding time, clotting time, PT, aPTT and platelet counts are to be done. Consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and relevant investigations are required.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
