Suggest Remedy For Blood In The Stools

About two weeks ago my husband saw a scary amount of blood in stools and on toilet paper. Since then it has happened three more times. Many family members have had colon cancer and/or polyps removed. Last year out of know where his blood pressure skyrocketed and resulted in him being placed on BP meds, Niacin, and Cholesterol Meds. Last bleeding was a few times yesterday, He has no side affects or pain, never any problem with bowl movements, very regular and always has been, about everytime after he eats. Stools are always soft never any strain. What could it be?
