Hello,
As per my clinical experience, the
boils on the feet with no response to antibiotics may be of concern with:
- Underlying uncontrolled or undiagnosed
diabetes mellitus
-
Drug resistance bacterial infection
- Weak or low host immune response
- Underlying peripheral aterial disorder
- Recurrent
skin infection through exposure to sand or else
Remedy depends on the diagnosi, but general guidelines are:
- Avoid walking barefoot
- Wear loose, soft padded slippers
- Avoid tight shoes
- Local application of mupurocin ointment
- Systemic antibiotics as per the culture report of swab taken from the boil over foot
- Control of blood sugar
- strictly avoid
smoking if consuming
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
