Hi! I have a few symptoms going on here. I have folliculitis on my legs, my doctor perscribed antibiotics, but it did nothing. I went to an allergist and he have me a topical steriod, also no help, its becoming worse everyday. I have boils now in my lower extremities, they have been coming and going. My blood pressure is up and I ve been taking blood pressure medication which seemed to help my blood pressure but my pulse is very high 110. I feel like there is water on the left side of my head. I need help.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the boils on the feet with no response to antibiotics may be of concern with:
- Underlying uncontrolled or undiagnosed diabetes mellitus
- Drug resistance bacterial infection
- Weak or low host immune response
- Underlying peripheral aterial disorder
- Recurrent skin infection through exposure to sand or else

Remedy depends on the diagnosi, but general guidelines are:
- Avoid walking barefoot
- Wear loose, soft padded slippers
- Avoid tight shoes
- Local application of mupurocin ointment
- Systemic antibiotics as per the culture report of swab taken from the boil over foot
- Control of blood sugar
- strictly avoid smoking if consuming

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
