Suggest Remedy For Breathing Difficulty After Stent Placement

I have 6 stents and have been having difficulty breathing for over a month. I went to the ER on Wednesday for my shortness of breath. Friday my cardiologist said he wants to do a heart cath on Monday to rule out my heart. My breathing continues to be bad and tonight my feet feel funny when I sit, they get better if I put them up in the reclining chair foot rest. I can t tell if they are swelling up or not, but I just want to make sure it is nothing with my heart. I have also had 2 surgeries for acid reflux and have had breathing problems before those surgeries. My wife and I don t know if I should go to the ER again or wait until Monday s heart cath.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think the breathing difficulties you are having are related to heart issues. You should do an EKG and echocardiography to check heart functions. This can't be related to acid reflux issues.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
