Suggest Remedy For Bruising And Pain At Injection Site

Had blood drawn from Iv in arm at er told nurse it was hard and painful so she didn't use that one for meds or fluids came home and I have a knot the size of a golf ball there with bad bruising what should I do? It hurts and seems to be getting bigger

Understanding your concern.

Thanks for your query . Well this quite common after injection . Some times needle punctures a vein or other surrounding structures which causes thi .

I would suggest you to give hot compresses to that site ,give gentle massage and take ibuprofen (if not allergis) or acetaminophen for pain and inflammation.

If condition persist after 3-4 days or get worse then consult a doctor for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe ointment containing heparin.
