Suggest Remedy For Bruising And Swelling Of The Eye Post Forehead Injury
Fell and hit my forehead into wall about 2 weeks ago. Yesterday I noticed a black eye forming on the opposite side. Today it seems to be getting larger. Would I be safe to wait until tomorrow to see my family doctor, or should I go to the emergency room. My concern is the fact that the black eye did not appear till 2 weeks after hitting my head.
* As per my clinical experience, the black eye after 2 weeks of head injury indicates "Racoon sign" indicative of possible internal brain damage of some sort as basilar fracture or else.
* It is best recommended to consult your primary care for the guidelines regarding need of an X-ray of skull or CT SCAN of the brain for best evaluation of underlying damage and guidelines of therapy accordingly.
* I would request you not to delay medical attention at any cost to prevent further internal damage.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
