Suggest Remedy For Bruising Under The Eyebrows Of A Hypertensive Person
My son, in his early 40 s, with a history of hypertension, awoke this morning with a blackened eye. The bruising is under his eyebrow and very distinct. This is the first such occurrence. He states that he has been taking his anti-hypertensives as prescribed. He states he recently had blood work done and there is no evidence of diabetes. What other problems could cause this event?
Bruising under the eyebrow can be caused by the following: 1) Trauma 2) Primary amyloidosis 3) Eye aneurysm 4) Blood clot in the sinuses 5) Giant cell arteritis 6) Migraine and other headaches 7) Increased pressure in the brain 8) Hemophilia 9) Kaposi sarcoma 10) Lymphoma
Your son needs to be examined in person by a physician and if necessary few investigations done to arrive at a specific diagnosis and appropriate treatment. 1) Raccoon eyes should go away on their own, although it can take up to 2 weeks 2) Apply ice packs to your closed eyes to bring down any swelling
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
