Suggest Remedy For Chest Pain After Recovering From Upper Respiratory Infection
A 42 year old female runner recovering from an upper respiratory infection and complaining of chest pain that is sharp and constant. The chest pain worsen when she is lying down and decreased with sitting up and leaning forward. Sermun CK and troponin I levels rule out an acute MI. The ED physician auscultates a pericardial friction rub. What s your diagnosis? *
Hi, From history it seems that this pain might be due to coughing due to respiratory tract infection leading to stretching and strain of chest muscles. This can be due to pleuritic pain due to some infection in the lungs as well. Take analgesic with decongestant for 2-3 days. If problem persisted then go for complete blood count and x-ray chest. Go for deep breathing exercises. Ok and take care.
