Suggest Remedy For Chocking Cough For The Last Two Years
I have asthma and COPD. I stopped smoking three years ago but developed a persistent cough two years ago that won t go away. I take quite a few medications to help with breathing but the only thing that stops the coughing i prednisone. However, two to three days after I finishing the prednisone, the cough comes back just as bad as before. My Doctors, Yes I said doctors, only prescribe them when the cough becomes a chocking cough and they have to ramp up the steroid dosage to bring it back under control before tapering off until the next time. Are there any other options I can try?
You need to be evaluated with a lung function test to look at your capacity and asthma control. Hopefully you are on regular inhalers as that is very important. The cause for uncontrolled asthma needs evaluation. Regular use of oral steroids is not advisable. Consult a pulmonologist for the same.
