Hello,

You have history of ulcerative colitis and presently you are suffering from chronic gas. Sometimes you also have pain and inflammation on the left side. You are taking Imodium nearly every day. Do not take Imodium more than the recommended dose of Imodium as you have history of UC. Diarrhea can be stopped naturally, take Sabudana (Tapioca Sago) cooked in water, you can add a little sugar for taste. Take a bowl once or twice a day, it will effectively control diarrhea.

You can also take raw banana boiled in water, peel it and add a little salt for taste, mash it and take it three times a day, you will be comfortable. You are having pain on the left side, your symptoms are indicative of left sided colitis. Inflammation of the left descending colon and sigmoid colon is causing you discomfort. Left-sided colitis is also known as distal ulcerative colitis. Natural treatment includes taking probiotics and wheatgrass supplements to get relieve. Wheat grass has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory (anti-swelling) property, it will be helpful.

However, you are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, you may need treatment with 5-ASA medication or oral corticosteroids or immunomodulators. Stay away from addictions if any. Prefer to take boiled food over oily, spicy food. Always take boiled water after cooling. For relief from gas, you can take pantoprazole, Pan-40, one SOS when required. Avoid taking it when you are comfortable & don't need it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
