General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic HCM. I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns.

Usually I don't put my patients on medications until unless there is a serious need. Mild RLS actually needs only the counseling and the patients responds very well.

But as obvious in your case, this is getting to the point of debilitation and in such cases medical care definitely needs to move beyond merely the counseling.

Suggested for you is RELAXIS vibrating pad. It has been proven very effective clinically for primary RLS. You will get relief with this device and meanwhile you may also be able to get consultation form a Neurologist for any secondary cause for RLS. This device provides counter-stimulation from the vibrations around the legs and improves the quality of life by decreasing the urge to shake the legs.

For secondary RLS we consider pharmacological agents according to the cause (it needs extensive in office physical examination and diagnostic testing. your Neurologist can help assist you for that if needed ever. He may consider adding a medication like Ropinirol, Bromocriptine, Levo-Carbidopa, Rotigotine or Clonazepam.
I recommend you to consider non medication therapy as I have elaborated).

Some home remedies:-
Keep your bedroom as comfortable as you can.
No alcohol, no cigarettes, energy drinks or caffeinated drinks.
After noon, no coffee, tea, chocolates etc.
Before going to bed take a shower, it will help you a lot.
Make a regular sleep/wake cycle. Go to bed almost at the same time every day.

Hope I answered all of your questions. Please don't forget to add your precious positive feedback to help me able to assist you better in future too. Have a wonderful time ahead. Keep in touch for a follow-up too to let me know if you have any doubts & need further assistance. I am available 24/7 for your help. Have a blessed time ahead.

Regards!
