Suggest Remedy For Congestion In Food Pipe And Burning Sensation In Chest

I am 50 year old. My resting heart rate (pulse) is about 86. Heart rate goes upto about 140 after a 30 min treadmill and cycling exercise ( checked the same at gym yesterday). I feel some congestion in the food pipe (chest). Feel as if passage is getting congested. Taking small sips of water helps to an extent. Feel mild burning sensation in the chest. I am a diabetic for about 10 years. My lipids and Hb1Ac test were more or less fine. Had this checked about 3 months back.Had got treadmill test done about 8 months back and it was fine. What could be this discomfort. Acidity, Stress or anything else. What are the symptoms I should be very careful about

Thanks for your question on HCM. Since you are diabetic I advice you to first check ecg to rule out any cardiac event.
If it is normal than it must be related to GERD (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease).
It is due to laxity of the gastroesophageal sphincter. Which causes acid of the stomach to come up in esophagus and cause the symptoms.
It is related to stress also. So be calm and relax. Take frequent small meals and antacids like proton pump inhibitors.
For diabetics any chest discomfort should be looked for cardiac cause. So ECG is must everytime you have chest problem.
