Suggest Remedy For Constant Congestion In Nostrils With Pressure In Ears

Have constant feeling of congestion in both nostrils all day. Frequently have extreme discomfort and difficulty breathing through nose at night. Blow nose often and it often causes a nose bleed. Have tried steroid nasal sprays that tend to help for a short amount of time. Try saline sprays for dryness in nose to no effect. Have pressure in ears constantly. Would love to get a good night of sleep.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have constant congestion in nostrils with pressure in ears. Well the symptoms you mention in query are clearly indication a condition known as Eustachian tube dysfunction like upper respiratory track infection , sinusitis or post nasal drip. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to :

- Apply dry hot compresses to external ear .

- Take steam twice a day to relieve the congestion .

- Do warm saline gargles .

Consult ENT specialist again to rule out causer like ear infection, meniere' disease or wax buildup . Doctor may prescribe mucolytic agent , decongestant and antibiotics.
