Sleeping child awakes from deep sleep crying coughing and gasping for air. Calm her down and she complains of a sore throat. She continues coughing and crying a little, but can fall back asleep. Glands feel swollen no fever. What is happening? scared me to death almost no complaints before bed

Get done a xray nasopharynx lateral view for adenoids.. Mention the age.. If present can be corrected by simple small surgery - adenoidectomy.
