Suggest Remedy For Cough With Breathing Difficulties

I have had a bad cough going on for about two weeks now. I cough pretty much every 5 minutes or so but it s often so bad that I end up puking. At night when I lay down, it sounds weird when I breath. I do cough up a lot of mucus as well. I have never smoked in my life, so I don t know what is going on.

Expectoration or mucus .
All these symptoms , you are having for 2 weeks .
The reasons (symptoms ) may be due to these possibilities , these include.
1 Asthmatic allergic bronchitis , this may be the most probable cause of these symptoms . Diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination by a doctor .
Usually when such patient visit I prescribe them to take monteleukast+ fexofenadine tablet once or twice in day IF THERE IS NO BREATHLESSNESS .
If with these symptoms breathlessness present I advise patient to take monteleukast+ bambuterol one tablet once or twice in day according to severity and condition of patient.
2 Bronchiectasis as mucus also present so this may be the another reason. Diagnosis can be confirmed by Xray chest . Blood for C B C , E SR ( if very high is suggestive of chronic infection).
3 Tuberculosis , diagnosis can be confirmed by Xray chest , blood for C B C , E S R ( if very high suggestive of tuberculosis ) . Since cough is from last 2 weeks so get in sputum tests also for A F B.
As you mentioned that there is puking with cough so this type of cough with puking may be due to WHOOPING COUGH.
There are so many other reasons of such symptoms but deal as I mentioned above.
