Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Meprate contains 'Medroxyprogesterone'. It is a form of progestin hormone, prescribed for menstrual problems,
breast cancer and prevention of
pregnancy.
If you are not getting periods even after taking progesterone for 5 days, you need to take urine pregnancy test to see that you are actually not pregnant.
Sometimes the cycles are delayed due to stress in family, profession, education, change of profession and change to new place.
Also, in conditions like
Polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD), it is common to have a long cycle with delay in periods. There could be also Thyroid
hormone deficiency. Hence you need to get blood tested for 'thyroid profile', which will help in excluding
hypothyroidism.
If your pregnancy test is negative, then you must consult Gynecologist for proper evaluation and treatment of PCOD and hypothyroidism.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
