Suggest Remedy For Dent On The Forehead

Hi, over the past few years I have noticed a dent like/ almost knot on my forehead about the size of a quarter on the left side right above my eye. I don t have any childhood trauma as I can recall. My mother thought that it was a bruise when she first noticed it about a year ago. I get headaches constantly. Please help should I go to the doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

History of trauma ,headache ,visual difficulties should be ruled out. Sudden formation of dent in the bone should be evaluated to rule out any tumors or disease that cause loss of bone.

An x-ray or CT scan may be required to rule out any bony deformities. Vitamin D and Calcium levels should be measured. Bone density should also be tested to rule out any osteoporosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
