Suggest Remedy For Deviated Nasal Septum Post Injury

I was in an accident 9 days ago. My cheek got a few stitches, but everything else seemed to just be bruised. However, I still have nose pain when I touch it and the wall between my nostrils is bowed to one side. I also noticed a notch in my one nostril that wasn t there before (right at the base of the columella, as if it s broken and the cartilage is sitting beside it s normal location). I have a Dr appt in a few days, but what should I expect?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Trauma to the nasal septum can lead to variety of lesions right from bruise to hematoma, fracture, damage to cartilage to deviated septum.
A clinical assessment is required to assess the severity of trauma.
Soft tissue injury without fractures can be conservatively managed.
In case there is deviated nasal septum, surgical correction may be required depending on the severity of the lesion.
I suggest you to consult your doctor preferably ENT specialist for further management.

Thanks and take care
