Suggest Remedy For Diagnosed Staph Infection With No Help From Keflex 2000mg

I was diagnosed with a staph infection 3 days ago, I have been taking 2000mg of keflex daily, but it doesnt seem to be getting better, I do have a sore that has finally today started to drain but the redness surrounding it is larger than my hand, the inner "hard" lump is about 4 inches long and an inch wide, it hurts horribly, I did contact the original dr. that I saw and basically he said to continue with antibiotic, hot compresses and epsom salt, it just seems to be getting worse.

Hello,
Welcome to HCM,
As you are having staphylococcal infection for which your doctor has prescribed tab keflex, it will take some time to control the infection.
The symptoms of pus draining out of the lesions it requires some time to control the infection, you need to take treatment for atleast 7 days. The lesion should be kept hygienically and local wound treatment is very essential in managing these wounds.
If the symptoms are not coming down, you need to send the pyogenic discharge for culture and sensitivity and find out which is the drug which is sensitive for the managing the wound.
Thank you.
