Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have nonstop symptoms of diarrhea, feeling bad nauseous, and very very painful pains in my throat. And this has been going on for 8 days straight and losing sleep. I have taken pepto bismol and miralax but are no use at all. And I have tried many home remedies. But nothing works. I am very worried and this has not happend to me for all of my young boy life. Please help me
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of diarrhea, nausea, throat pain, loosing sleep, taken pepto bismol, and miralax. Stop miralax as you already have diarrhea. All the symptoms are suggestive of a possibility of gastroenteritis with GERD. I would suggest you the following: PPI like Omeprazole, antacid, Domperidone to control nausea; an antibiotic if infection is suspected or evident on tests of stool, urine and blood. Supportive and symptomatic treatment as may be necessary and control of foods and beverages that cause problems. Consult your Doctor for clinical evaluation, examination and treatment.
