Suggest Remedy For Diarrhea, Reduced Urine Discharge And Low Appetite In An Infant

Our baby has had two total just wet diapers in the past three days and an average of 3 to 4 poopy/diarrhea diapers per day. She is getting increasingly more sleepy. She s been breastfed from birth, but since getting pregnant again moms milk supply has gone down and she s not wanting to take a bottle to give her formula. We ve been giving her some solids and she ll eat a little but not much. She s 8 months old and weighs 13.9 oz, and weighed 15 oz at her 6 month appointment.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

The baby might be suffering from acute diarrhea.

She should have undergone routine blood, electrolytes, urea, creatinine and stool (R/ M and ova)examinations.

She should be given antibiotics with anaerobic bacteria coverage ( quinolones with ornidazole) with antispasmodic, water and electrolyte replacements, with probiotics like lactobaccillus, racecadotril etc.

You should take her to pediatrician who can may order above investigations and prescribe treatment.

Regards,
