Suggest Remedy For Difficulty In Breathing Post Rib Fracture

I fell and broke 10 ribs (7 on the right an three on the left) end of September last year. My family doctor isn t that interested - didn t look at x-rays - just read the report and said all was fine. however, last weekend in Edmonton, one of the ribs shifted, cutting off my breath for about 15 seconds. Slamming my bqack against the door of the car got me breathing again but if there is a next time and it doesn t work, i guess i m done for. An ex family doctor in New Zealand (where I came from) says i need to see an orthopedic surgeon but how do i do that if my doctor thinks all is well?

HI
Well come to HCM
I case of rib fracture is it is stable and not casing any destruction to surrounding area like pleura or lung then it may not need any treatment, it will heal on its own, without any complication, but it may cause pain till it get complete healed, pain can be subsides with any NSAID (Non-Steroid Anti-inflammatory drugs) in very rare case it may need some treatment or surgical intervention, hope this information helps, take care.
